We stumbled across Oryza while out walking along the coast in La Mata a few weeks ago, but unfortunately, we could not get a table as the restaurant was fully booked. We made a reservation for this week instead — and now we completely understand why it is so popular.
Oryza is a fantastic restaurant in a beautiful coastal setting. The space itself is stylish and welcoming, with lovely views overlooking the sea. The dining room is tastefully appointed, creating a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and professional, making us feel genuinely welcome throughout the evening.
We decided to share a selection of starters, including the Tomato and Bonito, along with the Ensalada de Rape. Both dishes were incredibly fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. You could immediately see the care and quality that goes into the food.
For our main courses, we chose the Solomillo, Lomo de Atún Rojo, and Steak Tartare. Every dish was expertly presented and accompanied by peppers and roasted potatoes. The food was delicious, perfectly seasoned, and cooked with great attention to detail. I ordered my Solomillo medium, although in hindsight I should have asked for it well done, as I had forgotten that meat in Spain is generally served more on the rare side. That said, the quality of the meat itself was excellent.
To accompany the meal, we enjoyed four glasses of wine and two sparkling waters. The total bill came to €122.50, which we felt represented excellent value considering the quality of the food, service, and overall dining experience.
A wonderful evening from start to finish. Great work to the entire team at Oryza — we will definitely be back again soon.
