Living in Queseda

Welcome to Living in Quesada

Living in Quesada is our personal account of moving to, settling in, and living day-to-day in Ciudad Quesada.

It reflects our own experiences, the joys, the challenges, the surprises, and the lessons learned along the way.

This site isn’t a guidebook or a sales platform. It’s simply a space where we share honest observations about life here, community, services, and the realities of building a life in a new country, from our perspective alone.

If you’re considering a move, already living locally, or are simply curious about what life in Quesada can be like, we hope our experiences help you feel a little more informed, a little more prepared, and a little less alone.

All content is based on personal experience and opinion.

Take what resonates, and leave what doesn’t, and know that everything here is written from the heart — with no agenda other than truth.

Moving to Spain taught us many lessons — some wonderful, some difficult.

One of the biggest mistakes we made was assuming that the systems we knew in Ireland and the UK worked the same way here. They do not.

Not everyone calling themselves a lawyer, accountant, or estate agent is necessarily qualified in the way many foreigners might expect.

Our journey through property purchases, legal confusion, and tax advice taught us one powerful lesson:

Trust must be earned — never assumed.

This article is not an attack on Spain. Spain is a beautiful country filled with wonderful people and many excellent professionals. It is simply our lived experience and a reminder to do your due diligence before placing your trust in anyone.

Ask questions.
Verify credentials.
Protect yourself.

Because moving abroad should be exciting — not devastating.
