Embalse de La Pedrera is one of the largest reservoirs in the province of Alicante. Unlike the nearby pink and turquoise salt lakes, this is a freshwater irrigation reservoir, forming part of the Tajo–Segura water transfer system.

Visually Striking
What makes it visually striking is the intense blue-green colour of the water, which contrasts dramatically with the surrounding dry, ochre-toned hills. The semi-arid terrain, sparse vegetation, and wide horizons give the area an almost cinematic quality — particularly at sunrise and sunset when the light softens across the water.
The reservoir is popular for Scenic cycling routes, hiking and photography, quiet panoramic viewpoints and birdlife observation
It is not a commercial beach area and remains largely undeveloped, which preserves its peaceful character.
