Our opinion of Debra Charity Shop. – I wandered into this little shop called Debra Charity Shop the other week, as it’s only around the corner from where we live. Inside, I met a lovely lady and explained that I had recently closed my business. I wanted to do something meaningful with the stock I had left, so I offered to donate it all. The collection included angel figurines, fairy figurines, unicorns, and a whole host of brand-new, boxed items—altogether worth around €5,000.
To my surprise, she gently told me they already had more than enough stock. I was honestly left speechless. Here I was, thinking I was giving a gift that might really help, only to find it wasn’t needed. I didn’t quite know what to say in that moment.
Perhaps it speaks to how well their charity is doing that they have such a steady flow of donations coming through the door. And if that is the case, then good for them—their work must be thriving.
Still, it left me with a quiet sense of disappointment. I had hoped to support them in some small way, but it wasn’t to be. I won’t be returning, as I’m sure other places would welcome my offer with open arms. Somewhere out there, I know those little angels, fairies, and unicorns will find their rightful home.
