A Hidden Gem with Exceptional Food and Service
Our opinion of Punto Caliente Restaurant – Our first visit to Punto Caliente came at the recommendation of friends, who invited us to join a group lunch. We were a bit apprehensive at first – not only had we never dined with this group before, but the restaurant’s location, tucked away near the Municipal swimming pool in a quiet, off-the-beaten-track area, added to our initial uncertainty. However, any doubts we had were quickly put to rest the moment we stepped inside.
Lovely Setting
From the start, the experience was delightful. We were warmly greeted by the server and seated by the window at a beautifully set table adorned with crisp white linen. The ambience was inviting and far exceeded our expectations.
Food
Punto Caliente offers a “menu del día,” which was surprisingly extensive and, as expected, entirely in Spanish – perfectly fitting for an authentic Spanish restaurant in Spain. Our group ordered a variety of dishes from the menu, and we eagerly awaited what would arrive.
When the food came, we were blown away. The portions were generous, but more importantly, the quality and flavour of each dish were exceptional. Every bite was a delight, and we couldn’t fault a single thing. The service matched the food in excellence – attentive, friendly, and professional.
The best part!
The entire meal, including a beverage, came to just €16 per person. For the quality of the food and the level of service, this felt almost too good to be true. It’s rare to find such value without compromising on excellence.
The only downside is the restaurant’s limited hours – it’s open Wednesday to Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm. While this might change during the summer months, it’s worth planning ahead to ensure you don’t miss out.
In summary, Punto Caliente is a hidden gem that far surpassed our expectations. The food, service, and overall experience were outstanding, and we can’t wait to return. If you’re looking for an authentic, high-quality dining experience at an incredible price, this is the place to go. Just be sure to check the opening hours before you visit!
