Mega Restaurant – Orihuela Costa

Mega Restaurant

Our opinion of Mega Restaurant – Orihuela Costa. When it first opened, it had been on our list to try. Life got in the way, and we only managed to visit last month.

The first impression is striking. Considerable investment has clearly gone into the fit-out. The space is impressive — spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, with attractive décor and a pleasant ambience. It feels modern and ambitious.

We sampled a variety of dishes. The Pollo Tailandés (chicken strips) were enjoyable, and the Pan Pato was particularly tasty. The Gyoza were satisfactory. We also ordered Salmon Nigiri and Atún Nigiri, which we found to be quite small in portion and lacking in flavour. The Futomaki was underwhelming, and the Tonkotsu Ramen, which took over 45 minutes to arrive, was average. Rice accompanied the meal.

For two people, including four bottles of agua con gas, the total bill was €61.40. In our view, this was reasonably priced for the quantity ordered. However, we would have hoped for a slightly higher standard in both food consistency and service.

As always, this reflects our personal experience on the day. We wish the team well in their new venture.
