La Tagliatelle – La Zenia

La Tagliatelli
La Tagliatelli

Our opinion of La Tagliatelle in La Zenia – Nestled on the top floor of La Zenia Boulevard, La Tagliatelle offers a refreshing departure from its more generic sister restaurant at Alicante Airport. Here, the atmosphere hums with genuine Italian charm, warm, inviting, and effortlessly elegant. It’s clear this isn’t just another cookie-cutter Italian eatery; it has character, and the staff are efficient and friendly.

The Setting

The restaurant’s décor strikes the perfect balance between rustic Italian trattoria and modern. White linen-clad tables, crisp linen napkins, and comfortable seating create an air of relaxation. At the rear, an outdoor terrace offers a lovely spot for al fresco dining, though the interior’s cosy style is equally appealing. Whether you’re here after  a retail therapy session in the boulevard or a relaxed meal with friends, the setting never disappoints.

The Food

We’ve dined here countless times, and the menu never fails to impress. Our ritual always begins with the Tortellini Fritti(€6.90) – crispy, little golden parcels of goodness that set the tone for the meal.

For mains, we alternate between two standout salads:

– The Insalata Tagliatella (€15.90), a vibrant mix of fresh greens, juicy mango, and the most addictive mango dressing, sweet, tangy, and utterly moreish.

– The Insalata Affumicata (€15.90), a smoky, savoury delight that’s equally satisfying.

On our last visit, hunger got the better of us, so we also indulged in the Lomo Cosenza, succulent pork tenderloin resting on toasted bread, draped in a rich, creamy sauce that had us scraping the plate clean. The Salmon Tartar was pleasant, though not quite what I expected, a little less bold in flavour than I’d hoped, but still fresh and well-prepared.

Now, the pizza. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t for me. The base was too thin, almost cracker-like, and the pepperoni was salami, which I don’t like. But given how stellar the rest of the menu is, I can forgive one misfire.

Service

The staff here are attentive without being intrusive, friendly without being overbearing, and they strike that balance of perfection. Even when the restaurant is busy (which it often is), service remains efficient and unhurried.

The Bill

With four bottles of sparkling water, our total came to €91.20. Yes, it’s pricier than some nearby options, but the quality justifies the cost.

We’ve tried nearly every restaurant on Lan Zenia Boulevard, yet La Tagliatelle remains by far the best quality.

If you’re in La Zenia and craving authentic Italian flavours served with heart, this is the place to be.
