About Us

This Is Not a Review Site – It is simply our opinion, based on our lived experience.

We moved to Spain in 2019. We arrived new, unfamiliar with the systems, and without a local support network. Like many who relocate, we relied on the professional titles we had learned to trust in Ireland – accountants, lawyers, doctors, builders, consultants, etc.

What we quickly learned is that Spain is not Ireland. The culture is different. The systems are different. The legal framework is different. Assumptions do not always transfer. A lawyer, may not be a lawyer, an accountant, may not be an account and so on.

We had to learn as we went – sometimes through positive experiences, sometimes through costly mistakes and compete injustice.

We decided to share our journey not because it is extraordinary, but because relocation is rarely simple. Moving country requires adaptation. It requires humility. But most of all, it requires awareness.

Every story published here is based on our personal, paid-for experience. If a service or product meets expectation, we say so. If it falls short, we say that too.

Our purpose is simple – To raise awareness of the cultural, commercial, and practical differences that exist when building a home and a life in a new country.

We chose Spain. That means we must learn Spain. Adapt to Spain. Understand Spain. That process is not always easy. Because some aspects are so alien to our Irish heritage.

We believe that when you part with your hard-earned money — whether for a coffee, a consultation, or a construction project — you deserve the service, product, and professional respect that was represented at the time of purchase. Integrity should not be optional.

Our stories reflect that belief.

A Little About Us

Between us, we have owned and operated businesses across hospitality, retail, fashion, consultancy, construction, and holistic services. I am the author of several published books and numerous articles. We understand both sides of the transaction — the customer and the business owner.

We know how difficult it is to build and sustain a business. We also know what excellence looks like — and what it feels like when it is missing.

We understand what it means to invest money in something you hoped would bring value, relief, or satisfaction. That is why we approach every story with care, fairness, and a commitment to honesty.

Why We Share These Stories

Our intention is not to damage businesses, nor to offer blind praise. It is to highlight where customer care exists — and where it does not. To acknowledge professionalism when it is demonstrated. To question standards when they fall short.

When we recommend a person or business, it is because, in our experience, they have earned that recommendation. When we express criticism, it is based on our experience and shared in the interest of awareness — not hostility.

When we speak about a poor experience, it is not driven by revenge or resentment. It is about accountability. It is about transparency. It is about fairness to others who may be making significant financial and life decisions.

If our stories help one person make a more informed decision — or help a truly excellent business receive recognition — then the purpose is served.

At the heart of everything we share is one principle:

Everyone deserves respect — especially when they are paying for it.

Awareness

Anyone considering a move to this beautiful country should understand one simple truth: systems differ.

The law is different. The judicial process is different. Planning regulations are different. Administrative procedures are different.

What may be assumed or taken for granted in one country does not always operate in the same way here.

In our experience, these differences can create vulnerabilities for those unfamiliar with how the system operates. Processes may take longer than expected. Disputes can be complex and slow-moving. For newcomers, this can feel overwhelming.

As in any country, standards vary between professionals and providers. Some operate with exceptional integrity and transparency. Others may rely heavily on contractual technicalities and procedural advantage – something that foreign investors, unfamiliar with local practice, may not immediately anticipate.

For that reason, independent advice, careful contract review, and thorough due diligence are essential. Awareness is not pessimism – it is preparation.

Relocating successfully requires adaptation, patience, and informed decision-making. Our experience has taught us that understanding the landscape before committing significant investment is one of the most important steps you can take.

Our Motto

“If I have no Honour or Integrity – I have nothing”
